Grandad came with mummy this morning and helped us get weighed, fed, changed and bathed. Not in that order though.
We now weigh 7lb 7oz.
The nurse took our monitors off completely. Mummy wasn’t sure at first, she was a little nervous about it. Mummy took Austin over to the window to show him the real world. It’s amazing to be able to move around without wires for the first time in 14 weeks. So amazing that mummy and daddy took us to the hospital sitting room to watch Corrie. Something most would take for granted but a very special moment for us to be able to do something normal. I (Rory) loved the tv and Austin slept.
Our ROP test (final hurdle) was ok, I (Rory) got discharged and Austin has to be seen again in a fortnight. We didn’t need any extra oxygen though and coped pretty well. So much so that we could be home in a few days.
So….Nannie and Grandad Hardy and mummy and daddy have been working so hard to get everything ready for us. Mummy and Daddy had lots of fun preparing our monitors and making our beds.
Let’s see what tomorrow brings. 💙💙
